Trash Collection Disruptions in Middleton and Surrounding Districts
Due to the presidential visit on May 1, road closures and heightened security may impact Friday’s regular trash collection in Middleton and the surrounding area.
Jacobs will make every effort to complete all scheduled pickups as planned. However, if any areas are inaccessible because of security measures or traffic restrictions, those collections will be completed on Saturday, May 2.

Resident Alert: Phase 3 Water Shortage Order
The Southwest Florida Water Management District’s (District) Governing Board voted March 24 to declare a Modified Phase III “Extreme” Water Shortage due to ongoing drought conditions throughout the region. All residents, including those on private wells, are to follow one-day-per-week watering restrictions with new hours in effect. Beginning April 3, watering hours are reduced to 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. or 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. unless your city or county already has stricter hours in effect. Properties less than one acre in size may only use one of these windows
Resident Alert: Phase 2 Water Shortage Order
The Southwest Florida Water Management District’s Governing Board issued a Modified Phase II
Water Shortage Order. The water shortage restrictions are in effect February 8, 2026 through July 1,
2026. The order restricts residential and commercial irrigation of lawns and landscaping to one-dayper-week along with other restrictions described here.
Resident Alert: Phase 1 Water Shortage Information
The Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) has placed a Phase 1 Water Shortage Order for areas within The Villages. This shortage order began on December 1, 2025, and is scheduled to run through July 1, 2026, and applies to counties and cities in our vicinity as well. While this order does not make changes to existing two day per week irrigation, it does prohibit “wasteful and unnecessary” use, such as allowing water to flow from an unattended hose.
